The Fray in Ferndale. Feb 28 to March 2, 2013

The Fray in Ferndale takes place in the quaint Victorian city of Ferndale, located in Homboldt County California. More specifically, it's at Bellotti Hall in the Humboldt County Fairgrounds. * The table vote is when the participants get to vote on which track will be used for the individual competition.

Changes for 2013

Changes for the 2013 Fray in Ferndale include:

  • Dash Motorsports "504" short step pickup shoes have been approved. They're a new production item for 2013.
  • One Stop Slot Shop (OS3) guide pins, known as Lightning Rods, have been approved.
  • The blue table has been updated for 2013, with a gentler rise and descent on the elevated section, along with a slight banking added in the curve.

Practice Race Results

Since people started arriving on Monday, February 25 at the hallowed slot car racing ground that is Billotti Hall on the Humboldt County Fairgrounds, races have been run. Below are results for those races.

Team IROC Results February 28

Congratulations to Rick Voegelin and the rest of Team Santa Cruz on their win.

Fray Individual Competition March 1

The racers voted to use the Blue Table for the individual competition.

The Fray Individual Competition has been canceled for 2013. Al Michel who suffered a fatal heart attack shortly after qualifying was named honorary individual competition champion.

Fray Team Competition March 2

In 2012 there were 98 racers in the team competition. Team SoCal were the 2012 champions, beating out 16 other teams with Rick Jocham of Team SoCal taking the highest individual score among all teams.
